Instructions for Installing the AquaChem Demonstration Program

This demonstration program is a fully functional version of AquaChem with the exception 
that you cannot add new records to the database and you cannot print the graphics files.
The demo comes with a database already prepared for you. This database contains sample 
information collected from wells and springs throughout Switzerland. The data contained 
in these samples is sufficient to evaluate most of the analytical and graphical 
capabilities and features of AquaChem.

Note: You will need at least 8 MB of extended RAM (in excess of the operating system 
requirements) and 15 MB of hard disk space available to run this example. Make sure 
your machine meets these requirements before proceeding.  

AQUACHEM MUST BE RUN USING A MONITOR WITH THE SCREEN RESOLUTION SET TO 10245x768.

The AquaChem demonstration program is provided as a single file, Aqcdemo.exe. Read the 
following set of instructions to install the demo program on your hard drive.

Download the demonstration program file Aqcdemo.exe.

To install the demo program, run setup.exe to install under Windows 95 or NT.

Note: Just press <Enter> when the installation program prompts you to insert 
another diskette.

To run the AquaChem Demo Program, simply double-click on c:\Achmdemo and the 
program will be loaded.  

The first screen will prompt you to select a file to open. Select DEMO.HC3 and 
then press [OK] to open the demonstration database.  

A database records windows will appear with all the sample information from
various wells and springs throughout Switzerland.  

To plot a Piper Diagram for all sample records, select [Graphics]/[New]/[Piper]
from the top menu bar and select [OK] to accept the default settings.  A Piper 
diagram will appear on the screen showing sample points for each record in the 
sample database.

Continue to test the features and capabilities of AquaChem on your own and please

	NOTE: Under some circumstances, the long filenames that the program
        requires will be shortened depending on your system settings. If this 
	happens, simply rename the following files:
	
	MAPLIMIT.IN_	MAPLIMITS.IN_
	THERMOME.IN_	THERMOMETERS.IN_
